By RAUL GARCIA JR | Harlingen Times
Steven Ortegon can score the basketball. In his last few games he’s put up big numbers on his way to reaching the 2,000 point plateau.
Against Edcouch Elsa to open District play he splashed five three pointers and helped lift the Hawks to a win with 26 points on the night.
A few days earlier in the 46-92 win against C.C. Moody at the C.E. Vail Basketball Classic Ortegon went off and nailed seven three pointers, and finished the contest with 30 points.
On the season Ortegon is averaging 22 points per game, four assists, two rebounds and three steals.
